2018 has been a long, long year in many respects, but it's almost over. Now is the time to put your feet up, have a nice hot drink, and spend time with your friends and family (or at the very least with your favourite games and movies).

So we here at Pocket Gamer want to wish you a Merry Christmas, and a Happy Holidays to those who don't celebrate Christmas. We'll be taking some time off over the next week to recharge our batteries, and we'll see you at the start of 2019 for more news, reviews, tips, and features on the biggest and best Android, iOS, and Switch games. And maybe some 3DS and Vita titles if we're feeling like it.

But don't run away just yet! We'll still have stuff going up over the next week, with each of the writers taking their turn to highlight their favourite games of 2018. We'll also be looking back at some of the biggest moments of the year, and having a peek at what the future has in store for mobile and Switch gaming.

Until then, we hope you have a wonderful week, that your life is free from stress, and that your holiday wishes come true. See you, space cowboys.

Publisher Slitherine has halved the priced of turn-based chariot racer Qvadriga for iPad and Android tablets. It's a Silver Award winner so you might want to consider picking it up.

Yep, rather than the full price of £6.99 / $9.99, Qvadriga is available for only £3.99 / $4.99 right now.

It's set during the peak popularity of ancient Roman circuses. There, you play as a rider with a chariot and two horses, competing for fame and fortune.

But this is no ordinary racing game, and I'm not referring to the combat options available to you - this is a turn-based racer.

In an odd turn of events, and having published the Transistor price cut article earlier, Bastion has now dropped its prices as well from £3.99/$4.99 to 79p/99c.

Bastion is an action-RPG like no other. We follow the story of The Kid', our silent protagonist, as he collects the Cores that once powered Caelondia and attempt to prevent the Calamity that destroyed his home.

If the visuals aren't enough to draw you in to this wonderful game, its lyrical narrator or simply excellent score should do the trick regardless. Though it's been adapted for iOS, Bastion still has all of its charm as well as new aspect ratios, featured visuals, and incorporates the Stranger's Dream DLC.

Grab Bastion on the App Store here for 79p/99c. That's a price not to be missed.

A number of Konami's older iOS games may soon be pulled from the App Store due to compatibility issues - including Metal Gear Solid Touch.

Over at Inside-Games, Konami says it will remove a bunch of Japanese games on September 10th. We expect the same to happen in the west, though there is no mention of this on any of the games's iTunes descriptions.

You can get the full list here, but noteworthy apps include Metal Gear Solid Touch, Silent Hill The Escape, Crayon Physics Deluxe, Bomberman Touch, and a personal favourite - the bonkers auto-runner Tomena Sanner.

Previously, Konami said "mobile is where the future of gaming lies", but then quickly apologised and promised more console games.

    Most people use YouTube around the world, and thousands of videos are uploaded regularly on YouTube. In 2020, most of the country announced lockdown. So people stay at home at quarantine time. So creative peoples strat vlog channels and post their daily activities on YouTube. Only a few people have reached a million subscribers. Some of the people left due to low subscribers. So the main reason to brazil developers plans to launch games like YouTuber life-based. So they will launch Vlogger Go Viral MOD APK on Android devices. With this game, you can create a virtual life-like real-life Youtuber. Most people upload vlog videos, so the game full of based on bloggers.&#;

A WOLF pursued a Lamb, which fled for refuge to a certain Temple. The Wolf called out to him and said, "The Priest will slay you in sacrifice, if he should catch you." On which the Lamb replied, "It would be better for me to be sacrificed in the Temple than to be eaten by you."
"Ever wondered what happened to the old mobile phone you threw away?"

This is how the description of Burn the Boards opens up. It's how the creators introduce the game. And they should, as it's a game that will answer that question.

It has you playing as a guy from India called Arun who moved to the city with his family to work in an e-waste facility.

You need to help him break boards in the game's puzzles to get money to feed his family while also inhaling poisonous fumes. Glamorous.

The idea in each level is to break the boards apart in the most efficient manner possible. This gets increasingly difficult as you progress but the pay-off (and dangers) also grow.

In the game's shop system, you can spend money on items to make Arun's job easier and protect his health. But you need to spend carefully otherwise your family won't eat that day.
